There has been a raft of stories this year about security breaches on websites and digital services, including online games and Sony’s PlayStation Network. Now a mobile/tablet game has been hit by a similar problem: Gameloft’s Order & Chaos Online. The World of Warcraft-esque massively multiplayer online game has seen players complaining on its forums that their characters have been accessed by unknown intruders, who have presumably managed to get their usernames and passwords for the Gameloft Live community. Gameloft tells Pocket Gamer that the company is investigating the breach, and that other games using Gameloft Live are – for now – unaffected. Anyone running a massively multiplayer and/or social game on mobile will be following the story closely and gauging whether their own security policies are up to scratch.
