comScore has published some data on what US tablet owners are using their devices for. It finds that playing games is the most popular entertainment activity, with 67% of owners having played a game on their tablet in the last month, and 23% saying they play every day.
Watching videos on sites like YouTube comes second – 65% in the last month and 19% almost every day – but then music is third AND fifth. 62% of tablet owners say they have listened to music downloaded from a music service in the last month, while 22% do it almost every day.
Meanwhile, 57% have listened to music from a streaming/cloud service in the last month, and 21% do it almost every day.
Other activities: 57% have read an e-magazine or newspaper in the last month, with 18% doing it nearly every day; 56% have read an e-book (19% nearly every day), and TV and movies are lower down: 49%, 48% and 48% respectively have watched on-demand video/TV, full-length movies and live TV shows in the last month.
