Social photo-sharing app Path now has 300,000 daily active users, up from 10,000 two and a half weeks ago. That’s thanks to its relaunch, which broadened the app’s focus beyond photos to music and other aspects, while building a Facebook Timeline-esque ‘Smart Journal’ of each user’s activity.
CEO Dave Morin tells TechCrunch that 1.5 million people have downloaded the new Path in that two and a half weeks, compared to one million in the first year of the old version (which, if it had 10,000 daily active users, hints it was a short-lived novelty for the vast majority).
In related news, the company’s second app With is being shut down, as it focuses on Path. “After a long and friendly coexistence, two apps have become one. And the pair has settled on a name: Path 2,” explains the company.
