A new iPad book-app for kids called Road To Rock focuses on the adventures of a fictional 80s hair-metal band, with comic-book type cells for children to digitally colour in. But the most intriguing thing about it is the publisher: Warner Music Group.
Yes, the major label. WMG is getting into book-apps, without – as far as we can tell – a direct link to any of its current artists. The app costs £1.99 on the App Store.
“Watch your kid’s imagination come to life as they color their way through the story, transforming Mike, Bud, Randall and Ella into the rock legends they are destined to become,” explains its listing. “Road to Rock is witty and exciting, a great read, and fun for both parent and child.”
