Apple has announced that Disney’s Where’s My Water? Free was the 25 billionth download from its App Store. The milestone was reached over the weekend, but the company waited until this afternoon before revealing the exact details.

Chunli Fu of Qingdao in China was the lucky downloader – lucky, because they’ve won a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card.

“We’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve this historic milestone of 25 billion apps downloaded,” says Apple’s SVP of internet software and services Eddy Cue.

“When we launched the App Store less than four years ago, we never imagined that mobile apps would become the phenomenon they have, or that developers would create such an incredible selection of apps for iOS users.”

Apple has sold more than 315m iOS devices – a number split between iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices – meaning that the average device has downloaded just under 80 apps from the App Store.

There are now more than 550,000 apps on the store: an average of just over 45,000 downloads each.
