We wrote about Fanatix when its iPhone app launched last year: it’s a startup spawned from online ticketing firm Tixdaq, which aims to bring social features to sports fans watching matches on TV.
Now it has an iPad app, redesigned to make best use of the larger tablet screen. It gets people to sign in via Twitter and Facebook, then shows them what people are tweeting or status-updating about whatever match they’re currently watching, with private group messaging features thrown in for good measure.
Like the iPhone app, it’s a free download. It’ll be interesting to see how it fares against more general second-screen apps like Zeebox and GetGlue, which include sports in their offering.
