Streaming music service Spotify has now paid out around $250m to rightsholders since its launch – an update on the $150m figure the company has been touting for the last few months. The milestone was revealed in the press release for some other big news: Spotify launched in Germany this morning. What’s more, the free tier of the service remains intact, including six months of unlimited usage for new users. Germany is Spotify’s 13th market. Also interesting: Spotify is launching in Germany with 10 new local partners for its Spotify Apps platform. German users will be able to use apps in its desktop client from Eventim, Fellody, Motor.de, Interview Magazine, Intro, Festivalguide, VISIONS, laut.de, tape.tv, and Mit Vergnügen.
