Neil Young sold his ngmoco games publisher to Japanese social games firm DeNA, and is now in charge of bringing the latter’s Mobage community to the West. How’s it doing? “Pretty good,” he tells VentureBeat.

“You take Tiny Tower, which is a game on Mobage, the Android market range is in the one million to five million downloads. Most of the games that we’ve released and promoted have hit the one to five million, or 500,000 to a million download mark. So I think in general, on Android, I think we’ve made pretty good progress.”

He also talks about plans for 2012. “The first half of 2012 is going to be about getting these first-party titles out and tuned and beginning to scale across iOS and Android and the west and Japan. And I think the second half of the year should be about really scaling the business.”
