Australian startup Filter Squad has announced that its stable of Discovr apps (Discovr Music, Discovr Movies, Discovr Apps) has passed the 2m download mark. Not bad considering they’re all paid apps, although they have been dropped to free at various points in their lifecycles, which is where the lion’s share of downloads may have come from.
Anyway, Filter Squad has now launched a fourth app: Discovr People. It uses the same flowchart-style interface as the other apps, but for finding people to follow on Twitter. “Discovery is a really daunting problem. There are so many people in the world right now. How do you find new people that might be interesting to you?” says Discovr founder David McKinney. “It is just really fascinating and useful to see how social groups are connected. Conversations are the glue, and we map that out across the globe.”
