Two new music apps caught our eye this morning. Mixtapes is an iPad app targeted at people who have Spotify Premium accounts. “Mixtapes lets you share your playlists as though they were mixtapes,” explains its App Store listing.

Imagine, that certain someone is going away for a while, you log in once on their iPad and choose a playlist folder. From then on whenever you change the playlists or songs in that folder they’ll always have some new music of your curation.”

Meanwhile, iOS app Guitar Vision promises to help users “learn to play any iTunes song” by extracting the guitar tracks from songs in their iTunes libraries, then transcribing them into guitar chords using “patent-pending polyphonic pitch detection technology”. It then shows the chords and notes fingering on a virtual fretboard while the music plays.
