Marvel is debuting a new digital comic format this week called Marvel Infinite. It involves comics hand-drawn with tablets in mind, including the ability to take over the whole screen. That complements Marvel’s existing digital business, which sells replicas of issues on iOS and Android.
Anyway, Avengers vs. X-Men #1 is first to get the treatment. Slide To Play’s story has a good video showing how the new comics will differ from the existing digital versions, and the creative requirements they have for Marvel’s artists. One to watch, most definitely.
Its release comes shortly after the launch of Marvel AR, which adds augmented reality features to the company’s print products.
