Google’s approval policy for its Google Play apps store is famously hands-off, but check the results: a fake Apple has managed to launch fake GarageBand, fake iMovie and fake Pages apps for Android on Google’s store.

Pages raised our suspicions when we spotted it go live, mainly because, well, Apple isn’t going to make Android apps this side of Hell freezing over. But also because it swipes its main screenshot from a completely different iPad app called Paper.

GarageBand and iMovie look no more kosher: a takedown request from Apple is surely imminent. In the meantime, some users are being taken in.

“Well not even the Android@apple email address works unsure what to think about this app at this stage,” says one disappointed reviewer on the store. “Could you please update it because it says the apple server is overloaded,” requests another.
