Analyst firm Forrester Research has published its latest tablet forecasts, claiming that 56m were sold in 2011, but that this will rise to 375m in 2016, by which point there will be 760m tablets in use around the world. More on 2016: Forrester thinks that a third of tablets will be sold directly to businesses, while emerging markets will account for 40% of sales (there’s some overlap between those two predictions, obviously). “Tablets will become the preferred, primary device for millions of people around the world,” blogs Forrester’s analyst Frank Gillett. “Note that there will still be lots of personal computers sold and in use… because tablets only partially cannibalize PCs.”More - http://tinyurl.com/cj5y3pp
