Pretty much every major print magazine for women has launched a digital iPad edition by now, but there is competition emerging from some startups. One of them is Vixely, which has launched its iPad app this week. “We cover the topics you care about most including sex, dating, health, fashion and lifestyle to empower you, make you laugh and always keep you in the know,” promises its App Store listing. “Shop the latest trends within the app, listen to music, watch videos, view our city guides on your map, share content with friends and more. All of our content is designed exclusively for the tablet, with you in mind…” The challenge is discovery, against a field of apps based on well-established print mags.
