Few artists have followed in Bjork’s footsteps when it comes to making interactive album experiences as apps – mainly due to the costs involved, and the poor chances of making that money back in sales. Eric Wahlforss is up for the challenge though, with an iPad app for his new album Ecclesia, recorded under the name of Forss. The app promises “the full 40 minutes of Forss’ latest musical project in an immersive audiovisual environment”, which like the music is inspired by churches. Wahlforss worked with digital artists Leo Lass and Marcel Schobel on the app, which costs £2.49. Hang on a minute, though, where have we heard the name Eric Wahlforss before? Oh, that’s it, he’s the co-founder and CTO of SoundCloud. A man of many talents.
