Universities have often been seen as a heartland for digital piracy – cash-strapped tech-savvy students and all that. Now Spotify is hoping to tempt British students into paying for its streaming music service with a half-price offer. Any UK student with a valid NUS Extra card can now get Spotify Premium for £4.99 rather than £9.99 – for 12 months, at least. The offer is for the top tier of Spotify’s service, so students get mobile access as well as desktop.
