ComiXology has cemented its position as the most popular comic book-apps firm, inking an exclusive deal to distribute Marvel’s digital comics to the English-speaking world. It’s a multi-year deal covering ComiXology’s own Comics app, and the separate official Marvel app which it runs for the publisher. ComiXology has also given some figures for its apps: more than 65m digital issues downloaded so far on iOS, Android and desktop, up from 50m in January this year. TechCrunch reports that ComiXology’s downloads have grown 450% year-on-year in Q1 2012, and that the recent Avengers vs. X-Men series saw nearly 10% of print edition buyer redeeming codes to get the digital versions for free.
