Bible app YouVersion has notched up its 50 millionth install on a mobile device, up from 20m this time last year. The app offers nearly 300 versions of the Bible in 144 languages, with users able to highlight passages and share on social networks. “We also believe this is just the beginning. Something much greater is happening: a global shift where more and more people are engaging with God’s Word, and with each other,” blogs the company. It’s launched a new site called YouVersion Now to show what users have been doing in the app, including live totals on highlights, bookmarks, badges and minutes read (more than 22bn in the latter case).
