Rovio has confirmed that it has acquired the IP rights to iOS game Casey’s Contraptions from developers Snappy Touch and Mystery Coconut. The puzzler has been removed from the App Store, in advance of a rebrand and relaunch on iOS and Android this summer – Rovio’s first post-Angry Birds game that isn’t an Angry Birds game (note, there were famously dozens of pre-Angry Birds games). “This is a game that we all fell in love with from the first play,” Rovio’s Ville Heijari tells TechCrunch. “The gameplay is a perfect fit in our arsenal with its approachable, fun and highly addictive take on the physics puzzler genre.” The game is actually being renamed Amazing Alex, according to a separate report.
