Facebook is on the acquisition trail again, having snapped up the development team behind Android photo-sharing app Lightbox. And yes, that’s the team rather than the app: Lightbox itself has already been removed from the Google Play Store, with users getting until 15 June to download their photos before the service is turned off entirely. “The Lightbox team has incredible experience developing innovative mobile products that people love. We look forward to welcoming this world-class team of engineers to Facebook,” says Facebook in a statement. As often in these cases, the people that loved the app and made it an acquirable success now have to find something else to use in its place.
