We’re not just saying that because it’s a pint. Okay, maybe a little bit. But Guinness has found an inventive use for the much-maligned QR code that seems to fit the company’s brand. Created by BBDO New York, it’s a glass that when Guinness is poured in, becomes a fully scannable QR code. Okay, our sceptical hat is firmly back on when reading about what it does once scanned: “Tweets about your pint, updates your Facebook status, checks you in via Foursquare, downloads coupons and promotions, invites your friends to join you, and even launches exclusive Guinness content.” Such is the modern way of drinking, we guess.
Has Guinness made a not-rubbish QR code?
