It’s a busy week for GREE, having bagged a deal to make Moshi Monsters games, now the Japanese mobile social games company is launching its platform globally in open beta. That means developers can download the latest SDK and get to work making their games run on it. GREE’s standalone social networking app for iPhone and Android has also been updated with English language support. In an interview, CEO Yoshikazu Tanaka says that GREE is committed to its global expansion, but won’t be a soft touch when it comes to acquisitions. “It’s not the case that our strategy is just ‘let’s buy as many games companies as we can’,” he says. “The best path for us is to basically make the best products ourselves.”
