The Baltimore Ravens must be FUMING. Rovio has inked a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles to launch a branded version of Angry Birds this Autumn, and a range of other advertising and content partnerships. That includes animated clips to be shown at the Eagles’ stadium during matches – if an opposing player gets sacked, the celebratory animation will feature Angry Birds. It’s the first sports-team partnership for Rovio. “We’re very selective, we haven’t done a lot of partnerships so when we do them we want to do them deep and well,” GM for North America Andrew Stalbow tells the Wall Street Journal. “One of the things we’re quite proud of is that we were able to grow our business without spending money on marketing and partnering is key.”
