Mobile game Draw Something has had a short life so far, but with plenty of drama: zooming to 50m downloads in 50 days, spurring the $180m acquisition of its developer OMGPOP by Zynga, and then shedding users rapidly amid loud speculation over whether it was a flash-in-the-pan. That debate continues, but now there’s a new chapter: a TV show. Hollywood trade mag Variety claims network CBS has won a “bidding war” to make a pilot gameshow based on Draw Something, working with Sony Pictures Television and presenter Ryan Seacrest. The format: celebrities drawing in the studio while viewers play along at home. The show is expected to launch in early 2013.
