Touch of Classic is a project funded by the Spanish ministry of culture to make classic literature accessible to children. Having started with a Don Quixote app, now the developers have moved on to Shakespeare. A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Touch of Classic is aimed at 4-10 year-olds, telling the story from Shakespeare’s play with added animation, music and interactivity – including puzzles and mini-games. The app provides English and Spanish text and voice narration, and is the latest attempt to bring classic literature to a younger audience. Will it be more appealing than Angry Birds, though?
