While we were away last week, Apple and developers were grappling with the implications of problems in its DRM for iOS apps that saw a number of corrupted updates published on the App Store. The problem has since been fixed, with Apple also reportedly removing negative reviews posted on the Store for affected apps, if requested by developers. There is disagreement, though, on how many users may have been affected by the problems. Apple says “a small number of users”, but Instapaper developer Marco Arment suggests the bug affected more than 20,000 of his customers alone.
