US book-apps publisher Ruckus Media has announced its latest licensing deal, but this one goes beyond simply snapping up digital rights for an existing brand. It’s working with Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon cartoons like The Fairly OddParents and T.U.F.F. Puppy. Ruckus will launch “two new digital-first intellectual properties” as storybook-apps: The Green Weenie: Pooch Patrol and Tickle Monsters. The deal was apparently brokered by management firm The Gotham Group, and will see The Green Weenie debut on iOS and Nook this year.
