Techno legend Richie Hawtin has been a big innovator in apps already, working with music-tech company Liine. Their latest collaboration is called Smudge. (yes, with a full-stop). It’s available for iPhone and iPad, and is used to interact with an installation at the Space club in Ibiza called ENTER.Interakt. “Twist, pull and warp Smudge to shape a step in the sequence of audio/visual events in the room.” It also works elsewhere: “Create your own sequences, or connect with others near you automatically.” It sounds really intriguing, and interesting to see a big Ibiza club working with artists and developers on this sort of thing.
