Yes, we know. Appy Family. Ugh. But Disney’s survey of 2,000 parents in the UK has thrown up some valuable data, finding that 75% of parents with ‘app-enabled devices’ are sharing them with their children, and that 49% are happy to spend money on apps – with two fifths spending up to £10 a month. Disney’s suggestion that this is “as much as an estimated £132m a year” may be pushing things, but it’s one of the first attempts to gauge the potential size of the kid-apps market here. In terms of genres, 86% of app-downloading parents choose games, 53% entertainment apps and 48% music apps.
