Mobile developer Madfinger Games has been taking flak from its early Android users this week, after it switched its Dead Trigger first-person shooter game from paid to free. Yet the developer says its hand was forced by piracy. “The main reason: piracy rate on Android devices, that was unbelievably high,” wrote Madfinger on its Facebook page. “Even for one buck, the piracy rate is soooo giant, that we finally decided to provide Dead Trigger for free.” The company stressed that the game is free-to-play though: “All members of our team are playing (and enjoying) Dead Trigger without IAP.”
