We’re still waiting to see what a Siri API might do for iOS apps, but one of the companies behind that, Nuance, now has a separate initiative on the boil. It’s called Nina, and is a suite of services including voice biometrics, speech recognition and natural language recognition that can be used by companies in their customer service apps – VentureBeat cites banks and insurance companies as key clients. Big businesses, basically, rather than independent developers. US military banking firm USAA is piloting Nina later this year.
