British publisher Nosy Crow has made its apps name with impressive fiction
storybooks like Cinderella, but the company’s latest app moves into the non-fiction world. Rounds: Franklin Frog “follows the life cycle of a frog”, while using the company’s trademark feature of using children for voice narration. In separate news, the company has published a blog post on its recent “free app experiment”, when it made book-app Bizzy Bear Builds a House free for a day. Downloads spiked by 21,000% on the day – Nosy Crow isn’t saying from what to what – but more importantly, the day after the trial saw the app’s “third best day of sales, beaten only by its first two initial launch days”.
