Topix Politix is a new “political social network” for iPhone where users can vote on issues, build their political profiles and stay up to date with the latest curated news.

The free iOS app has been released in the run up to the US presidential elections in November, with interest in politics spilling over into several intriguing new applications.  Politix allows users to express their opinions on key issues, discover what people are saying about the presidential candidates, read news stories curated and written by the Topix editorial team and build their own political profile based on interactions.

Developer Topix says that Politix “was hatched out of the observation that people feel frustrated that they’re not being heard”. “We want to give you a platform where you can take your stand on the issues, and be heard,” Topix adds, emphasising the importance of sharing. “We’ve made sharing easy, so that you can share your statements, comments, and your political profile with your social networks.”
