Indie football game New Star Soccer has vaulted into the premier league of iOS earners, according to a Develop interview with its creator Simon Read.
He says that the game’s iOS version has been downloaded 1,111,725 times at the time of the interview. It’s a free download, but 429,067 of those players went on to pay 69p via in-app purchase for the game’s career mode.
A mightily-impressive conversion rate of 38.6%. Meanwhile, 147,508 users had used IAP elsewhere in the game to further their virtual player’s development.
The career mode alone has made Read more than £200k in net revenues after Apple’s 30% cut since New Star Soccer’s iOS release in March 2012.
