The Guardian’s iPad app has been a six-days-a-week affair since its launch in October 2011, since its Sunday stablemate The Observer wasn’t included. From this week, it will be.
The first iPad issue of The Observer will be made available through the app on Sunday (16 September), including its news section, New Review, sports section and Observer Magazine.
More than 1m people have downloaded the app since its launch, although just over 17,600 of them have signed up to pay £9.99 a month to subscribe once its free trial runs out.
The addition of The Observer is accompanied by a price rise for that monthly subscription, which will go up to £11.99 a month after the 23 September edition. However, users can choose to stick at £9.99 and not get The Observer, or pay £6.99 a month just for the Sunday paper.
