In May 2012, Swedish developer Toca Boca revealed that its iOS children’s apps had been downloaded more than 10m times. Now that total is past the 15m mark.
The figure can be found in a just-posted job ad for a senior iOS game developer at Toca Boca’s Stockholm studio. “So far our toys have been downloaded more than 15 million times in over 120 different countries,” explains the ad.
Toca Boca has released 14 apps so far, with the most recent being Toca Band (pictured). The studio is a subsidiary of Swedish media company Bonnier Group.
The downloads total is a mixture of free and paid apps, and while the majority are likely to be free, the company’s growing reputation for quality among parents means it’s still selling more paid apps than most of its rivals.
