American country star Kenny Chesney has released a suite of official apps bringing his No Shoes Radio station, which debuted on his website earlier this year, to mobile devices.
There are four new apps in total: bespoke No Shoes Radio apps for iPad and Mac, both of which cost $0.99; and free Kenny Chesney apps for Android and iOS.
All four apps allow users to listen to Chesney’s No Shoes Radio station, which includes live performances, “dressing room jams” and music hand-picked by the singer. There are also links to social media and iTunes / Amazon MP3 to buy music, while the iOS app includes an intriguing “Island Cam” feature, allowing fans to apply Kenny Chesney album cover filters to their photos.
Chesney was, apparently, personally involved with designing the apps. “I wanted these apps to be an extension of my albums and shows,” he said. “Even in the middle of the winter, fans can open up the app wherever they are, listen to a little No Shoes Radio, take a photo that looks like it came straight out of my music video, and feel like they’re back at the party all year long.”
