We’ve seen a few iPhone apps come out that draw their music from Spotify or Rdio, via those streaming services’ APIs. Rarely both, though.

New app Mixta.pe does that though: “A digital throwback to the once ubiquitous cassette, making it simple to craft custom music mixes and share them with friends by tagging them on Facebook and Twitter”.

The twist being that it can work with either a premium Rdio subscription OR a premium Spotify subscription – users who have neither will be restricted to 30-second samples from Rdio’s free catalogue.

Anyway, as with previous (unlicensed) mixtape-style services, the idea is making mixtapes, but also listening to those of other users. The app is also able to create mixes from the user’s Facebook Likes, their most listened-to tracks, or a random mix from a genre.
