Scottish mobile games developer Outplay Entertainment has reportedly raised $4m in funding, which it will use to expand its Dundee studio and create new products.

The money comes from existing investors Pentech Ventures and the Scottish Investment Bank, TechCrunch reports.

The company’s games include Bubble Blaze (apparently the number one bubble popping game in the UK) and Word Trick, which will this week pass 100m turns taken mark.

Founder Douglas Hare told TechCrunch that secret behind Word Trick’s success has been “zero barrier to entry for most players” plus an engaging experience.
