Kobo’s new 7” Android tablet Arc is now on sale in the UK via WHSmith, as the pre-Christmas tablet market continues to heat up.
The tablet has a 1.5GHz OMAP 4470 dual-core processor, 7” high-definition display and 10 hours of battery life, as well as the Kobo Arc Discovery Ribbon, which recommends content based on the user’s preferences (ie what they pin to the device’s Tapestries interface).
Kobo says that the Arc is, therefore, “the only tablet that learns what its user likes, to recommend more of the content they love”.
“Finding new videos, websites and articles is something we can all admit to spending hours searching for,” said Kobo GM of devices Wayne White. “With Kobo Arc, we have developed new ways for users to easily and more importantly, quickly, discover new information, resources and entertainment based on their interests rather than their purchase history.”
The Arc is on sale now through the WHSmith website as well as the retailer’s 550 high street stores, giving the device vital visibility as Christmas approaches. It comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64BG models, starting at £159.99 for 16GB.
