Educational iPad app Timbuktu has relaunched with a new design that moves away from the previous magazine-style look.
The app, which the company describes as “the daily source of fun and inspiration for parents and children”, offers activities such as maths games, stories, cartoons, activities and pictures for parents to share with their children.
The previous design was built in a magazine style but CEO Elena Favilli told TechCrunch that this didn’t work. “It’s something that makes sense for us because we grew up with that,” she said. “But working with children, we realized that it didn’t make any sense for them to start with a cover, or to flip the pages, so we developed this new version.”
