Some 126 robots from 19 countries feature on the new Robots for iPad app from technology magazine IEEE Spectrum, which goes pretty far to living up to its billing as “the perfect app for anyone who loves robots”.

The £2.99 app includes 360-degree photos of some of the world’s most advanced robots, hundreds of videos of robots in action, interviews with robotocists, a timeline and glossary of robotics and a how-to guide to get started in robotics.

“Having an interactive library of robots that you can touch to get information and interact with is great, particularly for enticing kids into science and engineering and teaching them basic concepts about robotics,” said Dean Kamen, founder of DEKA Research and FIRST in support of the app.

EEE Spectrum is the flagship publication of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers, with a print circulation of 400,000.
