The Rolling Stones are preparing for the last gig in their 50 and Counting… tour this weekend in New Jersey, and fans around the world will be able to livestream the gig through an iOS or Android app.

It’s called Rolling Stones Live: One More Shot, and has been released by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which is the Stones’ pay-per-view and webcasting partner this year.

“Just register and log in, and you can watch the greatest rock-and-roll band of all time perform their greatest hits,” explains its App Store listing. There’s also an in-app Twitter feature to see how other fans are reacting to the on-stage action, via a #RollingStones50 hashtag.

The app is a free download for iPhone and iPad, but you have to pay £10.99 via in-app purchase for ‘PPV + VOD’ (pay-per-view + video-on-demand) access to the gig on Saturday. Apple will be taking a 30% cut of those payments, although we’re unclear how it will work on Android.
