The AA has launched a new iOS app, AA Drivescore, that tests the user’s driving skills, theoretically allowing them to save money on their car insurance.

To test their driving, users simply download the app then press “start” at the beginning of every journey and “stop” at the end. The app will collect details of 200 miles of the user’s driving, which the AA will then use to calculate an individual driving score and work out how much money each user could save on their insurance premiums.

Aviva launched its own driver behavioural app app for Android last month, Aviva Drive.
