Microsoft and Apple are apparently at loggerheads over the former’s SkyDrive app for iOS.
The Next Web reports that Microsoft has been unable to update its SkyDrive app on the App Store since it introduced the option for SkyDrive users to buy more storage space via the app. Microsoft has, apparently, balked at paying Apple its habitual 30% cut of this revenue, as the additional storage space lasts in perpetuity, regardless of whether the user continues to use an iOS device.
The Next Web claims that Microsoft, which has a new update ready to go, has tried and failed to come to an agreement with Apple over the issue, offering to remove all subscription options from the iOS app.
It also claims that developers of third-party applications that interact with SkyDrive are being given the cold shoulder by Apple, with updates of their apps being rejected
Apple did not comment on the story.
