Polaroid, which yesterday revealed plans for new Fotobar shops for digital photo printing, has unveiled its own child-friendly Android tablet.

The Polaroid kids tablet, which will make its debut at CES next week, runs on Android 4.0 and includes a suite of apps, such as Kids Cam, Kids Vids, Music Studio and Draw, designed exclusively for children. It also comes pre-loaded with a selection of interactive children’s books, including Dr. Seuss and Smithsonian interactive books.

The tablet is designed to be durable, with side and rear bumpers to protect the device from whatever children can throw at it.

“Throughout our 75 year history, we’ve been known for creating innovative and easy-to-use products that are fun for all ages,” said Polaroid president and CEO Scott W. Hardy. “The kids tablet is no exception. It epitomizes the Polaroid brand personality and brings together a host of features that will delight kids and parents alike.”
