Commercial printer Fry Communications has chosen Layar as its preferred augmented reality and interactive print platform, reflecting the increasing interest in AR among traditional print publishers.
Layar said the move would bring interactive print to more publications in 2013 and beyond, as augmented reality helps the print industry to increase value for readers and advertisers alike. Last year Layar agreed a similar partnership with leading Dutch printer Senefelder Misset.
“We chose Layar because it provides the best user experience with the most robust technology, as well as a transparent pricing structure that publishers and marketeers can trust,” said Fry chief technology officer David Fry. “Layar is absolutely focused on leveraging the lasting business value of the augmented reality technology for printers and publishers.”
