The English Premier League has launched an official iOS app: Premier League 20 Seasons. It’s a paid app – £1.99 – celebrating the first 20 seasons of the competition with 100 “iconic moments”. That means videos of famous goals and highlights “whether it’s David Beckham scoring from inside his own half for Manchester United, or Thierry Henry scoring one of many remarkable goals during his Arsenal career”. Quiz questions and competitions are also included, and at the end of the current season, five more clips will be added. It’s interesting to see the Premier League using archive video clips in this way. Now, the question is how popular the app will be.
