The company has been in beta with its service, which it says combines Pandora-style personal radio, Spotify-style playlists and Turntable.fm-like social features. The company says it will use the funding to finish work on an HTML5 player and mobile apps for its two services, Radical.fm and Radical Indie, which are due to launch out of beta in early 2012. “I am personally flattered that despite entrenched competition and a faltering economy the offering was over-subscribed,” says CEO Thomas McAlevey. “The company’s owners appreciate the game-changing potential of Radical. Our Beta phase has given tremendous feedback, and this influx of capital will insure the rollout of our full service with a revised HTML5 player on schedule.”
